Recording artiste Kim Nain continues to make her voice be heard locally, and Internationally. Having seen the release of her debut album, “Deal Wid It” in 2018, she aims to acquire more listeners this year, and continue her growth as an Artiste. Though she caught the attention of many with the video for her sexy title track featuring Dancehall Artiste Destiny Sparta in February, she slowed it down a bit with her recently released single, “Marijuana”.
Produced by renowned Producer Dale “Dizzle” Virgo and released through DZL Records, Kim gives off retro vibes here as she shows interest in a Marijuana smoking rude boy. Though she states she may not be the typical girl that approaches him, the scenario continues where Kim wishes to interact with the young man on the dance floor, and see
where the chemistry develops. Production on the single will give listeners hints of some of the popular riddims of yesteryear, while the single may bring older listeners back to a time when they met a love interest at a street dance. Since the track’s release, Kim Nain has enjoyed a favourable buzz as many of her fans have expressed their love for it via Social Media. It also has been enjoying steady radio play, and gaining traction with its release on her official Youtube channel. When asked about the future of the track however, she sees it being a part of soundtrack for summer love, and has already moved forward with plans for an official music video.
Currently managed by Artiste Manager Shelly Ann Curran and signed to DZL Records, fans of Kim Nain should be on the lookout for her live performances in the coming weeks. Nain is also looking forward to releasing more music this year, but looks to continue growing and nurturing “Marijuana”.

Fresh off the release of his Reggae EP, “Upful”, Producer Dale Virgo is already at work on the next project. Recently, he connected with recording artist Twinkle Brain, and are set to release the single, “Number One”. The single promises to bring some good vibes upon listening this summer as Dale continues to produce and endorse positive music on and off the airwaves.
When asked about coming up with the new single, Dale Virgo and Twinkle Brain recall scheduling a meeting a few weeks ago in Portland. After playing around with some lyrics and Riddims for a couple hours, they’ve managed to create a few songs together with “Number 1” giving them the urge to release it to the public during the summer season. With a modern production combined with Twinkle Brain’s lyrics and delivery, they both believe the single will be received greatly with many relating to the lyrics.
Some may remember the Portland born Twinkle Brain as he was a contestant in the 2012 staging of the “Magnum Kings and Queens” competition. He was also featured in Rihanna’s “Man Down” music video, and has released singles including “This Year” through Bop Dem Records, “Lester” through TP Records, and “Rich Mi Seh” through Scaffle Brave Productions.
“Number One” is released through Virgo’s DZL Records and is available for purchase and streaming through Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and Deezer. The single is also the first release for Dale Virgo’s follow up EP titled “Afro”, which sees a release later this year.
Popular Producer Dale ‘Dizzle’ Virgo continues to make great music for the world to hear. The other half of the production duo Diztroy, Virgo has worked with the likes of Rihanna, Chronixx, Alborosie, Versi, and Drake. Teaming up with various talent all over Jamaica, he sets to release the “Upful” EP. Featuring 10 tracks, Virgo promises that listeners will find upliftment from track 1 onward, and can appreciate the positive messages throughout. With artistes such as Jah Vinci, Christopher Martin, Troy Anthony, D.A. Jay and more making contributions as well as Virgo himself dropping some lyrics under the name ANTOU, there wasn’t shortage of talent to collaborate with.
When asked the reason for putting out his EP now, his response was, “I wanted to put out a project filled with uplifting messages as the world is dealing with crime and violence, and a lot of negativity in the media. I want my music to make a difference, and not be stuck in a box or chasing the next trend.”
“Upful” will be released on May 25 through Virgo’s own label, DZL Records – and will be available on all major digital streaming outlets including Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer.
This song called beautiful is inspired by real life happenings with our women today not having love for themselves or if they do have that self-love, they’re neither happy nor comfortable because they do not “fit in”. It’s more now than ever we are seeing our women doing unnecessary surgeries and by other means enhancing their god given body parts and changing their gifted appearances which I’m not happy with because deep down in my heart I believe that EVERY SINGLE WOMAN is beautiful regardless of how other people view them. I want all to feel beautiful in their own skin, accept themselves for who they are and not who people want them to be. – “Devin Di Dakta”
